Michela Collett began her training in Kinesiology in 1998. Initially her involvement was for personal growth purposes alone. However the material took on a life of its own and became a life changing experience. After working for two years at a very busy health shop/centre as a practicing kinesiologist her husband began working overseas. She needed to be more home based and after helping as an assistant to her teacher realised she just loved teaching.
The only available and affordable training for kinesiology teachers at the time was the New Zealand based Diploma in Kinesiology. She completed this during 2004. This is a very comprehensive training path and has very stringent assessment requirments for certification. Having taught two intakes of students she decided that she would take some time out in the company of other teachers in Cape Town, Gauteng and KZN to set up a recognising body for Natural Health practitioners, courses and teachers.
She still offers the short Business Kinesiology workshop once annually, in a different centre in South Africa.
Once the NHTS (Natural Health Teaching Services) project has truly settled itself down she will be back teaching the longer kinesiology programs.
